Ingrid is still beautiful, as in her youth. Despite the fact the woman has a daughter, she still uses her appearance to manipulate men. She is very good at it. But once misfortune happens - Ingrid kills one of her lovers and goes to jail. The woman is sentenced to life imprisonment. Her daughter Astrid is left alone. She wanders around the world, trying to find a suitable place to live. Astrid visits many houses, each with its own laws and regulations. It is hard for a girl to find that right place where she would like to stay. Astrid visits her mother in prison, but she tries to rule the life of her daughter even being locked up. Astrid is trying to find her own path. And this turns out to be the biggest challenge.
